Mildred M. “Millie” Leary, 85, a long time resident of Parkside and Brookhaven died October 25 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Mrs. Leary was born in Chester the daughter of the late John and Mary nee Hunt Barlow. She attended St. Robert Grammar School and St. Robert High School Class of 1940. She was employed as a court clek at Delaware County Courthouse and and also worked as a waitress and bartender at many restaurants in Delaware County. William J. “JAY” Armitage died on Oct 13, 2007 in Kindred Hospital, Havertown, PA. Jay was born in Ridley Park the son of Jane (nee Dougher) and the late John Richard Armitage. He attended Nether Providence Elementary School, Cardinal O’Hara High School and Widener University. He was a life long resident of Delaware County. Jay worked as a technican for Media Water Works now Aqua Pennsylvania. Jay served in the United States Marine Corps, and was a member of the National Rifle Association. more…
Audrey M. Desmond died at home on Wednesday Oct 3, 2007. She was born in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of the late Virgil Vernon Smith and Ethel Mildred Burgoon. Mrs. Desmond has been a resident of Nether Providence since 1999 having lived for many years in Chester. Mrs. Desmond retired in 1988 from Crozer-Chester Medical Center. She previously worked for the City of Chester as a crossing guard at 24th St. & Edgmont Ave. for many years. She had a great passion for reading and loved to travel. Her hobby was crocheting. more…
