Col. Guy R. Campo
Col. Guy R. Campo USMC (Ret.) of Wallingford died February 27 at Crozer Chester Medical Center. Col. Campo was born in Philadelphia the son of the late Liborio and Liboria nee Scarpace Campo. Col. Campo attended South Philadelphia High School and graduated from Temple Prep. Col. Campo had been a resident of Wallingford since 1977.
Col. Campo attended West Chester University following high school where he played football.
Guy R. Campo enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October 1942 and served until July 1946 as an aviation mechanic and crew chief gunner, earning an air medal in the South Pacific. During this time in the South Pacific he was on board the aircraft that found the survivors of the USS Indianapolis. more…
