Anne M. Iannacci nee Desmond of Eddystone, died November 27 at the Wallingford Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born July 21, 1927 to Francis J. and Edna T. nee Hoffman Desmond, she was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School Moylan Class of 1946. She was educated at St. Michael’s School, went on to lead a Girl Scout Troop, instituted the St. Michael’s Teenage Dances in the 50’s, and served as a doting aunt to her sister Mary’s children. She worked at Westinghouse as a secretary and Crozer Chester Medical Center as an admissions clerk. Melvin E. Pratt 71 of Woodlyn died on November 24, 2008. Mr. Pratt was born in Iowa City, Iowa where he recieved his education. Mr. Pratt has been a resident of Woodlyn for the past 31 years. Prior to moving to Woodlyn, Mr. Pratt served in the US Navy for 20 years, retiring in 1975 as a boiler Technician. Mr Pratt was employed at Congoleum for 20 years until his retirement in 2000. more…
Thomas K. Fromal, Jr., 19, of Glenolden a 2007 graduate of Ridley High School died November 23. Mr. Fromal was born in Chester the son of Bonnie nee Schreffler Fromal and Thomas K. Fromal, Sr. He was a student at Penn State University Altoona Campus. He was a great football fan and attended many Penn State games. Anna Marie “Nancy” Horne, 57, died November 11 at home in Bristol, TN. She was born in Upland the daughter of the late Clement and Mary D. nee McLaughlin Horne. Miss Horne attended Resurrection of Our Lord School, Notre Dame High School and was a graduate of Temple University. She had lived in Swarthmore, PA for 25 years and in Bristol, TN for 4 years. While living in Swarthmore she was a member of Notre Dame deLourdes Church and a member of St. Anne’s Church in Bristol, TN. She was the sister of the late Clement J. Horne who died in 2007. more…
Richard N. “Dickie” Carr, 75, of Media, a Korean War Veteran and retired Sun Ship employee died November 3 at Riddle Memorial Hospital after a long battle with pulmonary hypertension. Mr. Carr was born in Chester and raised in Parkside before becoming a resident of the Media area for 38 years. He worked in Supervision for Sun Ship and Penn Ship for 20 years more…
