William J. “Jack” Crawford, Sr., 88, a 56 year resident of Milmont Park died October 29 at Crozer Chester Medical Center.
Mr. Crawford was born in Clifton Heights the son of the late Albert J. and Regina nee Manley Crawford and was a graduate of West Catholic High School class of 1938.
He retired in 1982 from Domino Sugar as a Quality Control Inspector after 40 years of service. Mr. Crawford was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Milmont Park. Mr. Crawford served in the Army during WW II. more…
Rudolph Bloom, Jr., 87, a retired administrator from Widener University, died Oct. 24, 2009.
He was a resident of Swarthmore.
A native of Philadelphia, Mr. Bloom graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1943,
and was the first graduate (1949) of the then newly-instituted master of business administration
degree program at Drexel University. He also was a student at Temple University and enrolled
in doctoral courses at Drexel. more…
Louis P. Larkins of Brookhaven died on October 14, 2009 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center. Mr. Larkins was born in Philadelphia the son of the late Frank and Anna Mae (nee Love) Larkins. Mr. Larkins was a graduate of the former Collingdale High School. He has been a resident of Brookhaven for the past 57 years. Mr. Larkins was a photographer, who worked for the Boeing-Vertol Company as an Areial Flight Test Photographer for many years, he also did private photography doing weddings and other formal occassions. more…
Mary E. Lynch of Glenolden died on October 10, 2009 at Fair Acres Geriatic Center in Lima, PA. Mrs. Lynch was born in Philadelphia the daughter of the late Charles E. and Rose I. (nee Gallagher ) Garrison. Mrs. Lynch and her late husband have been residents of Glenolden since 1955. Mrs. Lynch was educated at Aldan Elementary School and was a graduate of Southern High School for Girls. Mrs. Lynch was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Secane. more…
Dorothy M. nee McKinney Buriak, 85, a 43 year resident of Ridley Park died October 8, 2009 at home.
Mrs. Buriak was born in Chester the daughter of the late John and Della McKinney and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary School and Immaculate Heart Commecial.
Mrs. Buriak was employed as an administrative assistant at Westinghouse for 46 years retiring in 1986. She was also employed at the Thrift Shop at Riddle Memorial Hospital and was also a volunteer with HOPE.
She was a member of the Young at Heart Seniors and the Over 50 Club. She was a member of St. Madeline Church in Ridley Park where she was a collection counter. more…
