Sara C. “Sally” Bell, 92, a 54 year resident of Aston died November 17 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Bell was born in Chester the daughter of the late John and Mary nee Stiffler Miller. She attended Resurrection of Our Lord School and graduated from Chester High School. Following high school she graduated from Sleepers Business College.
Mrs. Bell and her late husband owned Bell’s Apparel a women’s clothing store in Chester for 34 years.
Mrs. Bell was a soft spoken but strong and resilient woman. She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Aston and the Aston Senior Citizens. more…
Bertha Linsley of Glen Mills died on November 6, 2009 in Crozer Chester Medical Center. Mrs. Linsley was born in Dingmans Ferry, Pike County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Mercer Jagger and Bessie nee Raitt.
Mrs. Linsley was educated in Pike County where she attended a one room school house in Coles Corner, PA, and then graduated from Milford High School, class of 1937. She then attended Stryer University. Mrs. Linsley and her husband moved to Maris Grove 4 years ago after having lived in Arlington, VA for many years. more…
Mary J. Larkins 87, of Brookhaven died on October 31, 2009 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center in Middletown Twp., PA.
Mrs. Larkins was born in Philadelphia the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Boulais) Burns. Mrs. Larkins was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School. Mrs. Larkins has been a resident of Brookhaven for the past 57 years, and was an active member of Our Lady of Charity Parish.
She loved to read, cook, bake and sew. Mrs. Larkins especially enjoyed making quilts for family members as well as clothes and Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for her grandchildren.
