Bertha I. LinsleyBertha Linsley of Glen Mills died on November 6, 2009 in Crozer Chester Medical Center. Mrs. Linsley was born in Dingmans Ferry, Pike County, PA. She was the daughter of the late Mercer Jagger and Bessie nee Raitt.
Mrs. Linsley was educated in Pike County where she attended a one room school house in Coles Corner, PA, and then graduated from Milford High School, class of 1937. She then attended Stryer University. Mrs. Linsley and her husband moved to Maris Grove 4 years ago after having lived in Arlington, VA for many years. Mrs. Linsley retired in 1976 as an administrative assistant for the Federal Milk Marketing Adminstration which is a division of the USDA. Mrs. Linsley was a veteran of WW II, having served in the United States Navy. She was a member of Tilghman-Angle-Smith American Legion Post 0851 in Dingmans Ferry, PA and the Veterans Club at Maris Grove. She is survived by her husband of 60 years Joseph H. Linsley, one brother Richard Jagger of Greeley, PA and on sister Ellen Bryson of Canaan, NH. Her Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 11 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd, (Chester Heights) Glen Mills, PA. where friends may visit from 9:30am to 10:45am. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery Conshohocken, PA. Contributions in her memory to St. Peter’s Apostolate, 200 West Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA 19064 would be appreciated.
